The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Prisons Department aims at ensuring the return of the offender to the society as a normal and useful citizen rather than a discarded entity. Thus, a strong emphasis is laid on the reformation and rehabilitation of inmates besides maintaining good discipline in prisons. The Department firmly believes in “hate for crime but not for criminal” and also the fact that protection of society cannot be achieved merely by detention.
